In this season the Revolution were promoted to Division One following their 2nd place finish last season in Division Two.

The team has also entered the Exeter and District Cup Competition, and this will be a challenging year for everyone, but rather than stay in Division 2 the players agreed they wanted to challenge themselves and see how they had improved.

Season 2008 / 2009

After what can only be described as a disappointing end to the 2008 Season, the Revolution Team knew it would be a tough summer, and a long wait before they could return to the Exeter League. they decided to take promotion back up to Division One to challenge themselves.

The final few games of last season were good at times, but essentially the team lacked discipline and team chemistry and the losses at the end proved that some changes were needed.

For the New 2008 / 2009 Season some new players have joined and provided a great boost of experience, talent and youthful energy to the team. This gives the Revolution one of their strongest rosters in terms of numbers and skill level recent memory.

The squad is headed up by Rich Nelsey and John Grounds in the middle. Paul Glaeser returns at Forward. Guard Matt Acott with take on the majority of the ball handling responsibilities alongside Captain Marc Eggleton. Ben Thompson returns with long time Revolution player John Lockyer. Newer players to the team such as Stephen Evans will be back following last seasons injury. Ben Waterman will again be using his speed for the team, and Graham Brown will also be looking to improve his minutes and contributions at every opportunity. Another former player Shaun 'Skip' Holmes has rejoined the team and will bring his flair and abilities at the Guard position.

In addition to these guys the summer has seen a tremendous amount of interest in the team. Ben Williams has joined the squad and brings size, scoring and defence to the floor. Big men Paul Crawford and polish player Maciek will look to provide a much needed rest to the likes of Grounds and Nelsey, and both are very capable players improving all the time. Murray Heath brings some great court patience and experience to the game, and the youthful energy of Tim Salvidge and Pete Williams will be sure to push the team with their lightening speed and skills. These young guns can also get out on the break and finish. The Revolution are also very happy to welcome back a former player and talented guard Andy Herbert to the team.

See the Player Profile page for more information on the players, and to check out their aka's / nicknames on the team.

This seasons Most Improved Player was Matt Acott, for his obvious hard work to strive to improve on his already strong game. Most Valuable Player was Rich Nelsey, who led the team on and off the court despite missing much of the year due to injury.

The team are entering back into Division One of the Exeter and District League where they believe they could have a shot at the title, but it won't be easy. If the team can stay healthy and play together the sky is the limit. There will be approximately 20 games during the course of the year and additional play off games will be confirmed.

The team travel into Devon for most of their away fixtures, as the name of the league suggests, and the team also enter the Men's Cup competition which will involve about an extra 3-4 games.
