Season
2000 / 2001
The team started well with a win in the first game, then fell to experienced
opposition Exeter Police in the second game. As the season progressed, the
Revolution found their stride winning all of their games up until they faced the
Police team again in February. It became apparent that in order to win the
Division title, they would need to beat the Police team, and win by more points
than they conceded in the match earlier in the year. They played a convincing
game and beat a surprised opposition 88-51. This meant the Revolution were now
in first place. All that was left was to make sure they won the remaining games,
which they did in style! The only defeat was in the cup competition where the
Revolution were knocked out in the semi
final by Division One powerhouse QECC 74-80. They finished the season as
Division Two Champions, not bad in the first year! James Coates was Top Scorer,
and Ben Thompson picked up the Most Improved Player award for his performance
based on the beginning to the end of the year.
